Are you looking to feel more joy in your day to day life? If so, you have come to the right place. Through a process which will assist you in developing tools for self-reflection and increasing your internal motivational skills, we will work together to make the experiences in our lives that can feel challenging, more joy-filled.
I am Michelle Hoven, a mother of three, and ever-evolving professional with over 30 years of experience working with individuals, groups, and families of diverse backgrounds. Throughout my career I have worked as a Placement Coordinator for Adults with Disabilities, a Probation Officer, and presently, as a High School Special Education Teacher. All of my experiences combined have led me to pursue my training in clinical counseling and I wish to bring my passion for learning and working with others into the therapeutic space.
I am trauma-informed and utilize strength-based and solution-focused approaches in my work with individuals. We will come together to identify your unique needs and to explore the set of skills and abilities that are innately within you and ready to be discovered. Through Mindfulness strategies, Cognitive Behavioral Interventions, and other client focused therapeutic modalities, I hope that you will find what you are looking for in our work together. Entering a therapeutic process is a step toward inner peace and understanding that can assist you in finding answers to questions you’ve been asking and solutions to problems you’ve been facing.
