Ashley Carpenter, LCSW

I believe life is a beautiful, chaotic, complicated, and precious ride — and there are times when we all need someone outside our inner circle to talk to. Family and friends are invaluable, but they can’t always provide the guidance and support we need. Reaching out to start counseling is a proactive step forward, and it’s an accomplishment to be proud of.

I’m originally from the area and spent the past eight years in Michigan completing my education and beginning my professional career. Over the last four years, I’ve worked with children and families in the school setting, and more recently I’ve expanded my practice to include adults. My clients often come to me navigating heightened emotional or behavioral symptoms related to a stressor or life transition — whether that shows up as anxiety, depressed mood, emotional distress, or grief. I draw on evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness, and I’m actively pursuing additional certifications to better serve my clients. I hold myself to high ethical standards both professionally and personally.

As a clinician, I aim to create a welcoming space where I meet you where you are at and take time to understand all the layers that make you who you are. My style is warm and inviting, encouraging and supportive — but also honest and straightforward. We all have moments when we need someone to walk beside us through hard times and validate difficult feelings; but, we need someone to have the honest, hard conversations. I strive to be that person for my clients, and all I ask is that the client shows up and tries too.

When working with children and adolescents, I encourage parents to be part of treatment planning while also honoring the privacy that helps young clients feel safe and make progress. I take pride in advocating for the minors I work with while keeping parents informed and involved when appropriate and needed.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: you don’t have to face hard times alone. Whether you’re navigating a life transition, managing anxiety or depression, or supporting a child through a difficult season, my goal is to walk beside you — with warmth, honesty, and a genuine commitment to your growth. If you’re ready to take that first step, I’d be honored to be part of your journey.
